about

she writes her poems and then burns them
in the fireplace in her home
she stays up late just to write them
so she doesnt feel alone

the words she never deciphers
as they pour out from her hand
she needs to know she can write them
but she cant quite understand

what they try to tell her
or why she even cares
so she rips them up and burns them
while she cries and waits and stares

she starts her day with some coffee
and she pours it down the drain
she wears her dress every day now
and the makeup hides the pain

every day she spends waiting
but she doesnt know what for
she goes to church every sunday
so that god will show her more

the house is no longer standing
and her memory's long gone
she sat and waited forever
while the world slowly moved on

her words turned into ashes
the ashes turned to eartb
just like the poems she had written
and never knew their worth
